Some time ago, spam received from a faked address.
Admin email received 8am each morning listing the pending
posts from non-members.
Go in and:
1. select 'Reject' on each post
2. add the faked sender to the block from subscribing filter
3. submit all data
Mailman reports "There are no pending
The Mailman web page to approve messages held for approval always has
the message: There are no pending requents, even when there
are messages in /var/lib/mailman/data/heldmsg-mynewlist-1.pck
Running Mailman 2.1.15 under Debian Wheezy with a new list that has
never existed on any local machine.

If the number of messages being held is -1, then there was a
bug/problem with upgrade that caused that. You go to handle
the messages, you see -1, you try to release -1 messages,
after that things are fine.

I've kept this little bit of python handy for cleaning out posts
in moderated lists that end up with too many posts to handle manually.
python -i $prefix/bin/withlist -l [listname]
m.requests={}
m.Save()

That will clear out all pending administrative requests.
