It works for us. No issues. This is a virtual server that had 2.1 on it and
removed. I remember I had to also download and install msvcp71.dll and
msvcr71.dll.

double checked the gdal16.dll version number that comes with 2.2,
and it's the same as the one listed on that site - the other files
all came from there...I'll give it a 3rd try a bit later today,

Are the DLL versions the same as posted on
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/MGOS21GdalProvider? The libraries that
worked with 2.1 should work with 2.2 since we have not changed the version of
GDAL between the 2.1 and 2.2 releases.
