*Analytical Chemist*
Azura is looking for an experienced analytical chemist to support the
National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Northwest Fisheries Science Center
(NWFSC). This position is dependent on Azura being awarded a contract for
the project “Non-invasive Diet Characterization of
Azura Consulting is surveying boaters who operate large pleasure vessels
and yachts along the U.S. East Coast. We are interested in learning about
boater knowledge and opinions of programs designed to reduce the likelihood
of unintentional boat strikes with large whales.
The main goals of this
Azura is looking for an experienced R programmer to develop a unified tool
for generating design-based estimates of cetacean abundance. This work will
be conducted for NOAA Fisheries in the Pacific, and the tool should be
easily adapted for use by analysts in other regions.

*Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs) in Virginia Beach*
Azura is looking for MMOs based in or near the Virginia Beach, VA area.
Potential work would include land-based monitoring and mitigation during
construction for one year beginning this spring. Work may be sporadic,
ranging from 1 day a week to 6
*Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs) for Falkland Islands*
MMOs will be deployed on bottom trawl vessels in the Falkland Islands
Loligo squid fishery. They will be fishing in the Southwest Atlantic. The
main role of the MMO on each vessel will be to conduct observations to
estimate seal abundance
on
Sea,” a documentary film by Wild Lens about the struggle to save the
vaquita, as well as forum addressing related topics. Senior Marine
Scientist, Amy Whitt M.E.M., will provide information about the vaquita,
discuss the main threats to the species, and provide an update on the
unprecedented interna
