Hello,
I'm selling my Draveil specimen to finance future expeditions.
It fell on july 13, 2011 near Paris (France) and is the only specimen for sale
(except several micromounts I'm selling). It's a H5 chondrite. This fragment
with a cool fresh crust weighs 120.46 grams.
It's a major addition
I've been noteing that on ebay, that the Chalyabinsk offered is alot more rusty
than the material that was recovered right after the fall.
Thanks, Derek.

Yes, months of melting snow and rains tend to oxidize meteorites.
Why do you think I rushed over there in the snow and got all I could?
The pre-melt material is exquisite.
The newly found is still quite nice and some are nearly flawless still, but
many show mild to moderate oxidation.

Hi all. Mike when you went there (Chelyabinsk) did you actually search for
specimens or did you just purchase from people that already had collected
them? Where did all your specimens go? As a regular Buyer from you, was kind
of waiting for your specimens to be offered up for sale but must of

Thank you Jim.
I don't do Ebay either, too many fakes and scams there.
And there is an easy way to find all (or most) of the meteorite
dealers, just go to the Meteorite Exchange: www.Meteorite.com and
you'll find us there. And a whole lot more.
Thank you Paul and Jim.

Hello All,
What Mendy said is correct.

Gary is correct. It is up to the states how they want online sellers to

I'm not a big buyer by any means but when I do buy on eBay, it's

Hello Jim, All,
As others have said -- it probably depends on the state. At least
here in CA, paying sales tax is required for only online sales to
buyers within CA. Ebay/Paypal have always enforced those taxes on me
when I've bought things.
Anne has just said something similar about Colorado.
For all of the smack I talk about eBay for sellers, as I buyer, I love
it. Buyers can do no wrong. eBay coddles it's buyers because it's
profit model changed when it acquired PayPal. Prior to the
eBay/PayPal era, eBay tried to compete with PayPal by offering a rival
in-house payment service
Agreed. Having reliable analysis by a reputable lab, to establish a
legitimate pairing via the proper channels is the way to go. It helps
everyone - private and science. :)

While I do not share 100% Adam's firm stance against taxation by the

Hello Greg,
After getting turned down a few times, I started asking a few
questions of the landowners who said they were committed to only
NASA coming onto their land.
Turns out a few private hunters whose names I won't mention decided to

I will not argue the point anymore here on the List. It is turning into a
