Hi Marcin, that CK3 with its high chondrules density, large CAIs and dark inclusions reminds me very closely to Tanezrouft 057 (classified as C4-anom, if I remember right, a mixture with CK) and NWA 2900 (which ended up after a longer while as CV3, but which is very similar to TNZ 057). HaH 280

Hey Martin all, It's a hard call. Is anyone aware of one of these dark areas being studied in detail? I personally think that TNZ 057 is distinctly different as the DIs are much more crisply defined and quite unique in appearance to the host material. Marcin's pieces are beautiful and some of

List members, I notice that some sellers list a meteorite as 100% crusted if it apparently had 100% crust during flight but now has several chips of crust missing. My feeling has always been that 100% crust should signify that it is totally crusted with none missing. Can we get a consensus of

If someone advertises 100% crust, then it should have 100% crust! This is one of my pet peeves when I buy from people. 85% or 90% are estimates, and that is fine, but 100% is not an estimate! Kind regards,   Mike Bandli   -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL

2007-11-10 Thread JKGwilliam
I agree. Any chips that are deep enough to show matrix should be listed, at best, as 99%, and drop in value from there. Like so many other terms in the business of meteorites ( e.g. fusion crust, oriented ) the claim of 100% crusted if often misused. Best, John At 08:45 PM 11/10/2007, Bob
