Hi All,
Tucson is the greatest gem and mineral show in the world.
There are so many reasons why.
The problem is non disclosure of an imitation or "fake", not selling one.
Only when something is sold to deceive does it become a problem.
Meteorites have been sold as rare falls when they are not.

Here is a link to some numbers but, The Tucson Show is so big and spread out
all over town that they could not begin to possibly know the true stats.

By the way, if anyone could provide me with a transcript of the original

most appreciated.

Numbers can be deceiving. One must ask what the percentage of vendors
(merchants) hosting booths or showrooms at both China and Tucson events offer
meteorites and impact related artifacts, and of them, what percentage are
authentic?
Tucson may lose the distinction of being the largest gem and
The Gem and Mineral Show is the most important event for Tucson's economy
which has declined to new lows the last few years. Tucson needs to be
recognized for more than consistently making the top ten list of most
impoverished cities in the United States. Perhaps they should double down

Hi Anne and all,
I can remember it being larger in the early 1990's compared to the
shows after 2002. I'd multiply finding a parking spot by 3 back then to
now. My opinion and memory isn't always right but it was larger then.
Most people back then made reservations a year ahead of time in
The official Tucson Visitors site estimates attendance at 50,000 this year.
I believe they estimated 90,000 last year with less than 40,000 that
actually attended.

Perhaps Tucson will have a better show this year. I enjoy
I was an exhibitor at all these shows in China. In Chenzhou last year the
government ordered all
Business to close down and all people had paid holidays and free admission to
the show. Attendance was mandatory. When the government in China orders you to
attend, you attend.

Personally I look forward to attending the Tucson Show 'Every' year. It is
great to visit with old friends, meet new ones and buy some incredible
meteorites along the way from room to room. I also take this time of year to
go hunting in the surrounding areas of Arizona, Nevada and California...
Yes, numbers can be deceiving. I talked to a promoter from China the last
time I attended the Tucson show a few years ago. He claimed that over a
billion dollars will change hands at the Chinese show since it will
represent the largest market ever. For a mere $50,000.00 dollars, he could
