[meteorite-list] meteorites and georgia real estate

2003-10-26 Thread ari machiz
Hello list,

It is Ari. I hope this qualifies as an on-topic post. I am a realtor in Atlanta, GA. I want to offer to list members a proposition. If anyone buys or sells a home using me as your realtor, or refers someone to me who buys or sells a home through me, I will take a full 50% of my commission and buy meteorites from you.

[meteorite-list] Birthday Meteorite

2003-08-30 Thread ari machiz
Hello list, and Anne,

I wonder if someone, Anne maybe, can tell me if any meteorites fell on August 15th. This is the birthday of my little girl, who is now two weeks old. I am a very pround papa, and if anyone cares to see her, you can go to http://www.geocities.com/a_machiz/MyPics/jordanIndex.htm

Be careful though. She is too beautiful to look at all of her at once!Ari MachizTVBTITU

[meteorite-list] Jordan Perseids Machiz

2003-07-31 Thread ari machiz
How's that for a name? My wife is expecting a little girl on the 10th or 11th of August. If she is one or two days late,Jordan (our little girl) will be born in the middle of it!

I don't think my wife would go for it. Maybe she would go for Jordan Allende seeing as how she is from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.

I think I'm dreaming. She would no more name her Allende than she would name her breccia (that's kinda pretty!). One thing is for sure. In a couple more weeks, I am going to have a little girl spitting up and condruling all over me. The only crust I'll be getting is from her nose into a Kleenex. I'm gonna have to get used to changing diapers full of JordanDonga.

If y'all think of any more, you can send them on!Ari MachizTVBTITU

[meteorite-list] Blocking people from my e-mail / FAQ page

2003-07-16 Thread ari machiz
If someone knows how to block individuals posts from appearing, please e-mail me off list. In the mean time, I'll go poking around the Meteorite Central page to see if there are any directions. It's the God thing. Not that I don'tlove God... or something. :-)

I didn't realize I became insensitive if I wanted to quarenteen my involvement with religion to the forum on holy wars and the flat earth society.

As for meteorite discussion, I recently posted a few questions that need answering on "my" FAQ page. I offset that in quotes because I am just doing the grunt work. I am going to re-post three questions soon. I am requesting you look out for the post and e-mail me off list if you want to answer a question. I will write back to you and request your answer.

I'm not trying to have control or something. I just don't want 87 answers to one question andhave everyone wastes their time; furthermore, I want to give others a chance to get some visibility; however, if Al is the only person who responds, he is going to get even more visibility on the page.

By the way, God is a morblit. There is only one morblit. It is invisible, and resides in the sky. If you see me seemingly (a little alliteration) talking to nobody, don't be crazy. I am simply talking to God.

Best regards,

Ari

[meteorite-list] Origin of the Moon God

2003-07-11 Thread ari machiz
Hilist.
Stephen Hawking says that the beginning of time does not preclude a creator. Still, I don't remember him going on about Jesus Christ being the way to heaven, or A. C. Baktividanta Swami Prabhupada being the true almighty representative of the lord for mankind.
I wonder if meteorites ever end up being discussed on the Jews for Jesus forum.
If God is responsible for meteorites, we'll all know when we die, or if there is asuspension of natural law dealing with meteorites. The bottom line is that religion boils down to faith, a word that does not enter the scientific dictionary.
Let's keep the witnessing to that of meteorites.
If I am out of line, please feel free to reprimand me on or off list.Ari MachizTVBTITU

[meteorite-list] Pop Quiz for the FAQ page

2003-07-10 Thread ari machiz
Hello list,
I fixed some links on "the" FAQ page; however, this page still needs some answers.
Learning more about meteorites:
1. How are meteorites named?
4. Are there any minerals found in meteorites that aren't found anywhere on earth?
7. What is a Widmanstatten pattern? (Martinsitic/other)
On another note, I see another list member has requested to be removed from the list. Perhaps someone could suggest to Art that the instructions for removel be printed in a slightly larger font, or that some emphasis be placed on aknowledgement of correct removal procedures before becoming a member of the list.
I admit this should not be necessary, but that fact does not help the person who wants to be removed and doesn't know how to accomplish their goal; it doesn't help anyone on the list when this person pastes the same message into the forum 5 times, and it doesn't help Art on bandwidth.
It is just an idea. I didn't type all this because I don't like seeing the message. I just thought the idea would be helpful.
Bless all ye who make these rocks available to me the moment I can afford another one, weather or not I need a telescope to see that day. Hmm. That would be looking backwards. Perhaps I should break out my microscope. :-)Ari MachizTVBTITU

[meteorite-list] FAQ page advise (books link)

2003-06-18 Thread ari machiz
Hello all,
I have updated the "Links" link on the FAQ page. One of the links I offer is to a page for books on meteorites which is simply a link to a google search on meteorite books.
The only problem I see with this is that I could fill the FAQ page with google search links. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks.Ari MachizTVBTITU

[meteorite-list] FAQ page link reminder

2003-06-16 Thread ari machiz
Hi everyone,
I just received an e-mail from Geoff N. inquiring about my meteorite FAQ page. First of all, the link is:
http://www.geocities.com/a_machiz/Meteorite/Faq/index.htm
If you want a shorter address, just go to:
http://www.geocities.com/a_machiz and you'll see a link for the FAQ page.
Geoff with a G suggested I post the link every few months. I'll do so not to promote it for my benefit or anything. I don't want to bother anyone with the same post all the time, but I think quarterly reminders might be a good idea. Besides, the page really belongs to all who contributed, and to anyone who needs some info. It was YOU who asked and answered all the questions.
Thank you.Ari MachizTVBTITU

2002-09-07 Thread ari machiz

Hi list,

There is a TV program called The MOST or something
like that. They were discussing the toughest
creatures. The toughest they found was called a Water
Bear (not a bear as you might think of one).

Did anyone see that episode?

is there any written material on this creature and the
possibility that it made its way to Earth on a
meteorite?

Thanks,

Ari

[meteorite-list] FAQ page

2002-08-15 Thread ari machiz

Hi list,

I have been out of the loop for a while, except for
messing up the index page of the FAQ pages.

I finally fixed it. I know there were maybe a couple
folks who had linked to it. The link should be the
same.
