A sub-adult male Harlequin was seen this morning on the bay side of Park Point
at both 19th street just north of Hearding Island and at the 43rd street bus
turn around just north of the recreation area. This is presumably the same
individual which had been seen last week and previously.

Adult male Harlequin also in Grand Marais (Cook Cty) this afternoon, with
Goldeneyes. They were to the east of the harbor pier, the end of S Broadway.

The harlequin duck that has been seen intermittently over the past week or so
is in front of the marine museum at canal park in Duluth as of this writing. I
will post close-up a close-up photo on the Minnesota Birding and County Lister
FB pages later today.

A note that the area was searched extensively yesterday, and no one was able to
refind her. However, the long staying Long-tailed Duck was found on the Dakota
County side of Point Douglas for any county listers that still need one for
Dakota.

Still there at 4pm this afternoon. Very windy, but the lagoons are easy to
view, and the Duck was hanging out in the far back corner opposite the only
place where it is possible to park so not too bad.

The female Harlequin duck first reported on November 20th at McQuade
harbor, Duluth township, North Shore Lake Superior has been hanging out
there ever since. John and I saw it today, November 25th.

Just spotted a female Harlequin Duck in front of Blue Fin Bay Resort on Lake
Superior. It flew off following the shoreline to the southwest.

This evening there was a female Harlequin Duck perched on the rocks
on the west side of Knife Island near the Knife River marina. This
is probably the same bird seen here on March 30 and in Two Harbors in
late February. It was very easy to miss, and I only noticed it after
hiking to the end
Today (3/30) at dusk there was a female-plumaged Harlequin Duck at
Knife Island near the Knife River marina. It was loafing with a
flock of 23 Common Goldeneyes between the island and the outlet of
the marina's boat canal. This might be the same bird that was last
seen at Agate Bay in Two
This afternoon (2/21/16) I relocated the female-plumaged Harlequin
Duck at Agate Bay in Two Harbors. The bird was near the red buoy at
the bend in the breakwall. It was originally found on the 13th and
has not been reported again until now.
I posted a photo on the MOU Recently Seen page.
The male Harlequin Duck found by Al Loken on February 1st at Agate
Bay in Two Harbors was still present this afternoon (Feb 7). A flock
of at least 35 Long-tailed Ducks flew by the breakwall and they were
later seen at Burlington Bay. Lots of other waterfowl around Agate
Bay and Burlington

Bill Tefft and I observed the Harlequin Duck at 11:30 am January 20 2013.
We observed the bird from the LD parking lot in Alma WI.
We had tried an hour earlier and could not locate it, but came back for one
more try. It took about 10 minutes this time before it just appeared, it

At 2pm Sunday myself and several others observed the Harlequin Duck
fly from the area of open water on Blue Lake into the sewage pond to
its south. The bird could not be relocated once it landed in the pond.

On both Saturday Sunday this past weekend, Oct 30-31, a female-
plumaged Harlequin Duck was seen in Grand Marais, Cook Co., and 2 imm
Red-throated Loons appeared there today, Nov 1. The Harlequin Duck was

Sharon and I found a Harlequin Duck at dusk today at the mouth of the
French River east of Duluth. It was a male just coming into full
adult plumage. It was foraging with a Mallard in the shallow water

- The Harlequin Duck was seen again today about 11am. It was not
under the bridge but was along the shore with some Mallards by the
boat docks on the Prescott, WI side of the river and could be seen
very easily from the small park next to the railroad bridge. Not much
else there.

In addition to the Harlequin, yesterday a Peregrine made a couple of pases
over the railroad bridge at Prescott. A couple of weeks ago, it sat in a
littlle alcove high on the east side of the bridge giving everyone a real
eyeful. I'm told by other observers, that it has been around alll winter.

Jim Ryan and I found a beautiful male Harlequin Duck in full breeding plumage
and a Redhead Duck below the railroad bridge in Prescott, Wisc. Both were on
the Minnesota side of the river. Trumpeter Swans were everywhere with over
twenty swans in at least five locations in Dakota
