Sir,

I have to design a structure with SOI as substrate and Si layer over it
with air holes etched.my aim is to achieve slow light .

 I am having trouble understanding the output of the extension code .I
tried running the code according to my ctl file please guide as I am
getting confusing(-ve group index values)  results.
Also guide regarding how to make calculations at some specific wavelength
.suppose I want to make calculations of group index,group velocity
,dispersion and all other parameters at  wavelength of 1.55 µm how can I do
it.if you have any code regarding line-defect for slow light please provide
it to me.

I have used extension code available on net for Dispersion calculation. I 
am having trouble understanding the output of the extension code.I tried 
running the code with some changes according to my ctl file I am getting 
outputs attached in file named group index. please guide as I am getting 
confusing(-ve group index values)  results.if u can provide an email 
address iwould like to mail my results and ctl file

Thanks very much for your reply!
The structure that i want to bulid is ONLY one line-defect in the whole
square lattice.Even if I set the supercell parameter to 10, this line-defect
is still periodic.That means the line-defect isn't sole.Like that:

 Dear friend,
 I think you have a mistake in  the supercell-y parameter. Your supercell
 width is 3 so MPB ensures a Bloch periodicity using a supercell composed by
 only three holes in y direction. You should probably try with:
 (define-param supercell-y 10)
