Quick question: If the Management Point isn't there, how is the Client
installed on the PC? Are they not delivered the same way? (I'm trying to learn
here.)

My previous problems have been fixed. It looks like what I was seeing with the
Management Point was a common issue with SCCM installs that were upgraded from
SP1 to R2

Boundary is by Active Directory. I created a Default boundary group and added
the single boundary to it.

I've just asked SCCM to reinstall the client. We'll see what happens.
I did check the execmgr.log file on the client, and here's what it says:

The default setting for policy retrieval is 60 minutes. The entry you are
seeing in execmgr.log indicates the client does not have any policy yet.
If it has not been 60 minutes, you can wait a bit longer. Or from the
ConfigMgr applet in control panel on the PC, run the Machine Policy
Retrieval
