and set allow_8bit, which people have reported to work for swedish
characters. I still get the swedish characters åäö as ? though. Both in

For some reason (?), the list of current mail messages was moved
to 'inbox'. OK, I'm not sure why, but I can deal with that.

in either of your muttrc files? It's unlikely, but perhaps it was
compiled in as on by default. You mentioned your non-standard config;
