monarch works well for me.. nagios 3 isn't 'supported' but it works
just fine (if you don't need any of the new config options)

I just started using nagios.
I have installed yesterday the latest stable build and plugins.
My problem is that on the tactical overview I see @ services 1 warning I
click on it and I see that it is the localhost where nagios is installed.

I am not getting a login screen when I bring up Nagios on the web. Where
is it configured to require a login. When I get in it is as nagios and I
am limited as to what I can do.

I'm not sure what OS your running Nagios on, but did you see section 5
on the installation instructions (for Ubuntu):-

It takes you through configuring the web interface for the relevant
users.

I have a nagios 3 server monitoring several other servers. I use a
windows box to get to nagios web. I am not receiving a login screen and
it defaults to the user nagios. I need to open it as the nagiosadmin.
