running the latest NDOUtils version 1.5 and having some of the same problems I
was having. This is related to the latest update that adds asynchronous
database queries. Read about the patch here

start by testing the plugins from the command line.
eg.
/path/to/check_file_age -h (for help)
/path/to/check_file_age -w 100 -c 1000 -f /path/to/logfile
