Hi,
it is because we open files without closing them; somehow i
think that this is a bug (taco may know)
No, that is not a bug. The error is equivalent to
\setbox234567=\hbox{}
It is the macro program's duty to keep the numbers in check.

Dear Sirs,
In my laptop I have the Suse linux 9.3. This distro has tetex 3,
but I intend to update conTeXt . I tried already some ways, but
without success: download an install (unpack and texexec --make --all)

I tried to fix it after Taco reported the exact problem. Plese test
if it's working now.
Thanks, the live context works! I tested this file:

Thanks Hans, that was stupid me.
Still it is not solved. Now I get the messagage test.1 is not found. In
the log however I see, that a file testMPrun-mprun.1 is written. If the
test file is altered in such a way that this testMPrun-mprun.1 file
should be loaded, I still get the message, that
I don't have a fix, only chiming in that I've seen the same issue. It
happened when I was learning about backgrounds, so I figured it was my
ignorance and didn't save the test file. But I'll try to reconstruct
it.
