Hi,
The ConTeXt releases starting from 2007.01.12 have a few major
changes that seem to catch some people unawares.
1. As of 2007.01.12, ConTeXt uses a 'pdftex' executable, no longer
'pdfetex'. This matches up with the release of pdftex 1.40, where
there no longer is a separate 'pdfetex
, ConTeXt uses a 'pdftex' executable, no longer
'pdfetex'. This matches up with the release of pdftex 1.40, where
there no longer is a separate 'pdfetex' executable. There are two
ways out of this:
- Apparently an old install of pdftex can still run, but only if
you copy the 'pdfetex
but no pdf (I get this with anything, has nothing to do with this
particular problem).
I guess this is due to the fact that contextgarden still uses pdftex
1.2.x and current ConTeXt requires(??) 1.4 - right?

of a mixup. Assuming you run pdfetex, the wrong
definition of \dontleavehmode is now actually used. It should
have been like this:
\let\dontleavehmode\quitvmode
For Hans:
yes, the \pdf... prefix is missing from pdftex 1.40's \quitvmode.
In the non-pdftex, this weird error message is currently almost
that is no longer valid?

Well, if I did everything correct, that should not be the case.
I had pdftex 1.40.1 made from the source and that made pdfetex equal

I apologize that I bother you now so much with my own problems but I

Good evening.
Excuse me this off-topic, I don't know where should I ask.
I've installed pdfetex 1.40.1 to be able to use hz-algorithm with
truetype fonts. Both my AdobeReader 7.x, and xpdf under SuSE Linux 10.1
view the output pdf file all right. But my gv viewer based on

it seems metafun is the only
format that was correctly regenerated.
It could be that ctxtools somehow only understands about pdftex 1.40
(whose executable name for pdfetex is now once again renamed to pdftex)
Hans can no doubt explain what happens here better than I can.
