Hi
I am new to ConTeXt. Once I saw the showcase, I thought that this is even
much better than LaTeX which I have been using for 3 years. I have MikTeX
installed on my WinXP machine and according to the advice tried to setup
SciTE to write some practice documents. Still I have problems. I have

Hello!
I have a few questions about ignoring unnecessary spaces and blank
lines. The following example illustrates my problem. In the first
start/stop pair text after \startcommand is not bold as it should be,
in the second it is bold but blank line is before. I've tried to

Did you rename all files to lowercase (and without spaces)? ConTeXt
sometimes has problems if file names use uppercase letters.
Under Linux with teTeX 3.0 (with latest ConTeXt), I try many times

If you're not aware of this one, consider:

Won't compile, but try:
\placeformula[-]
\startformula\relax
[-2,2)=\{x:\, -2\le x 2\}.

this is indeed a side effect of optional
Doing thinrules one can place a number of them.
However the interlinespace seems fixed to whatever has been chosen
for small, medium, big.
I looked into the code but could not find a more flexible mechanism,
as for example

Hi all,
this seems to be a general TeX-problem, not ConTeXt specific, but I'm
not sure I understand the details. Here's the problem: when I use
mainlanguage[de], I can type ` to get German opening quotes,
\quotedblbase „. However, this characters needs some (a lot of)
kerning when it

Is there a way to have kerning with this input, or do I have to
change my habits?
Sorry, I can't help you with kerning at the moment, but you should
change your habits and never type quote signs, but use \quote{} and
\quotation{}.

What is the advantage? (And unfortunately, it doesn't help with my
problem...)

Hmm, using
\WORD{Hell\odiaeresis\udiaeresis\ssharp}
it works, but if I replace the symbolic names by UTF-8 characters:

I get:

Hello,
The fact that all Polish fonts (lm, iwona, kurier, antt) now ship with
el-* files makes me wonder: is there time to do the next step and
finish the second encoding with symbols?

Correct?

Does this mean if I update I will have it in the core and I can get
rid of the line in cont-new.tex?

Is it possible to number each part of the cases environment. I want

b, \text{ if something} \cr
c, \text{ if something else} \cr}
\stopformula
to come out as
