out of curiosity I have tried the latest current. Is the command
\setupheadnumber[section][6]
now invalid on purpose or is there a simple way to fix it?
One more problem:
\setuphead[section][textstyle=\ss\bfc] % combined with numbercommand=
\setuphead[subsection][style=\ss\bfb]
