Late yesterday afternoon (12/17), the adult drake Barrow's Goldeneye was actively diving amongst the extensive ice floes in the bay just offshore East Lakeshore Rd. about 1/2 mile east of the piers at the mouth Oak Orchard Creek in Point Breeze (Orleans County). Also of note was a gray phase

On Monday morning at Montauk Pt. there were abundant birds, but little variety. Highlights were the continuing Scoter spectacle off the Point. I did not estimate the number of birds, although Surf Scoter seemed the most abundant followed by White-winged and Black Scoters. Fifty-three Razorbills
