Comments: One of the better days that we have had at Hamlin Beach. The
biggest highlight was a completely unexpected breeding plumage adult

Jones Beach west end to Captree State Park did not turn up any vagrant

The AMERICAN AVOCET was still present at Puddler's Marsh this morning. It
spent the better part of an hour feeding and loafing in the open water, mostly
along the back edge of the pool. It spent most of its time alone, but from
time to time it wandered in among a group of gulls resting in the

passerines. Turned up a couple of interesting things though including 3
Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
Lazy Point, Napeague produced it's reliable LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, a

A windy but beautiful day at the NYBG bird walk produced a PHILADELPHIA VIREO
in the crab apple trees. We also saw:
Hairy woodpecker
Red bellied woodpecker
Yellow bellied sapsucker
Field sparrow
Clay colored sparrow
White throated sparrow
Song sparrow
Swamp sparrow
Black throated blue
Yellow
