checking out Goat Island downriver to Lewiston. In Niagara Falls from the
shore of Goat Island in the morning (just upstream from the Three Sisters
Islands) we watched the continuing adult Slaty-backed Gull standing out on

On Wednesday, while in Queenston, Ontario, Jean Iron showed us a roost of
vultures across the river about two miles away in Lewiston, NY. Being
somewhat familiar with the village, I estimated where the roost might be and
late today I searched the area and found it! It is in a residential

The Avocet continues! I saw it late in the day today in Coney Island Creek
after I birded with Sy Schiff, Joe Giunta and the crew at Jones Beach
earlier. The Avocet seems to be regular in the northern cove of Coney
Island Creek. To get there, park by the baseball fields near Home Depot,
