describes is actually the Cross River Shopping Center in the hamlet of Cross
River, Town of Lewisboro, Westchester County. It is located at
After leaving the Crossbills action at Jones Beach. I headed out to
Massapequa Pond off Pittsburgh Avenue in Nassau, where I saw one of the two
Eurasian Wigeon Drakes found earlier in the week by Rich Kelly. A check of
a few other local ponds in the area did not yield anything of note.

My wife Samantha and I missed the Virginia's Warbler by minutes today and on
the 20th, followed by hours of walking around and waiting. The consolation
prize today for all of us birders at Alley Pond Park was a NORTHERN SAW-WHET
OWL that the alarmed songbirds found for us. It was roosting at
This morning I had many Red and White-winged Crossbills flying through the
median. Although there were many more Red Crossbills, the White-wings provided
much better looks. Thank you Andrew for initially spotting these birds.

Today around 130-2 while in Pound Ridge I had a single Pine Grosbeak
feeding with several Cedar waxings. The location is in the parking lot of the
chase bank mini shopping center just up the road (east ) from the turn to
the reservation.
