Hi all!! There is a loafing black tern by the west colony here at nickerson
beach giving great looks. Almost full mature plumage, but the head has a bit of

I don't know if the Anhinga is still there but as seen on my previous original
posts I had it where Tim had it earlier today on the south part of the
reservoir between Convent Rd. and Veterans Memorial Dr. and east of Blue Hill

The Anhinga was perched on a tree just north of Convent Bridge until just after
11 AM. It started thermaling and circled incredibly high, but eventually began
descending back towards the lake. It is currently sitting on another snag due
south of Convent Road, still north of the New Jersey

After being absent for a while the Anhinga did a quick flight around the
lake at 9:10am as seen from the Blauvelt Rd bridge. It flew north up the
creek then back just south of the bridge and out of sight in the corner of
the lake at the following:

Ari Weiss reports re-finding an anhinga reported to him last evening (not sure
arrival date) on the Rockland County (NY) side of Lake Tappan -appears from pin
it's being (or was) seen about an hour or so ago from causeway b/w Lake Tappan
and Hackensack River on Blauvelt Road.

The Cupsogue Bar-tailed Godwit is apparently being viewed this AM although at
some distance with haze. Please refer to e-mails from yesterday for the eBird
checklist with location.
