Oddly, we did not see a white winged gull of any species although it is hard to
believe that none were present. There has to be something better among all
those birds. I hope this encourages some to check.

Today on my way home, I stopped at the Newburgh waterfront to do some
"speed birding" for Gulls. Within 10 seconds, I had a first year Iceland Gull
sitting on the Pilings just south of Torches Restaurant. Nothing else of note.

Although the Slaty-backed did not re-appear for the masses, (and yes I
am feeling that ridiculous guilt, as if I could control it) I have high hopes
for a re-appearance with the number of gulls that were present further out on
the river today. With tomorrow's

The Pink-footed Goose remained in the small grassy area behind the Provident
Bank until approx. 5:10 PM when it and the 11 Canada Geese it was with, headed
East presumably to spend the night on the Wallkill River.
