Richard aracil spotted a drake barrows goldeneye at 3 pm today off the south end of the orchard beach boardwalk.after the bird was lost from view behind high island.both richard and myself drove over to kirby street on city island and picked it up again around 4 pm and it was last seen moving

The refill of Jerome park reservoir is underway.Only a handful of shorebirds remain still as the waterline steadily rises,a both yellowlegs,a solitary sandpiper and a few peeps.no wilsons phalaropes or other rare birds that I can see,but the ducks that are hear love it.
