On Saturday May 2, a Summer Tanager and Blue Grosbeak were found along the
entrance to Field 3 of Robert Moses State Park and NOT the golf course as
indicated by our ebird report. We were unable to re-find either of these birds
after our initial sighting.

I just saw on the Orange Co. list that there's a Summer Tanager in Wappingers
Falls that's evidently been around for awhile at a private feeder. Nice photos
on the eBird report. A shame it's a private residence since I go by the road
it's on periodically.

Jones Beach has been reasonably active this morning, with good diversity
overall and solid numbers of many migrants. I’ve detected 91 species over the
course of the morning. A female Summer Tanager was seen in the pines along the
northern edge of the median just before the turnaround, the same

trail in Southampton. This trail is also known as the Marguerite Crabbe Greeff
Wildlife Sanctuary.

Trail in the woods, a bit past (west?) where there is a trail fork (I think the

The winter subspecies of Summer Tanager amazingly is doing well at Cloves lake
Park in Staten Island despite all these deep freezes. When I arrived around
4:30 PM it was vocalizing loudly, being chased by a Mockingbird near the
bridge. Then it found a hole with small bees or wasps, a bit
with other birds seen on Staten Island N.Y. City, Dec. 25th:
