Greeting from Cape May! We were all astounded down here when Jim Dowdell
reported an Ivory Gull in Cape May near the Lobster House, and I spent the day
happily chasing and photographing the bird as it made circuits around the
harbor. We saw it last at sunset around the drawbridge going out to
Rich Gostic and I looked extensively for the Barnacle, Pink-footed and
Cackling Geese this morning at Sunken Meadow State Park and Kings Park High
School. The only bird we could locate was the Cackling at Sunken Meadow. The
bird was with approximately seventy five Canada's on the lawn north
After missing the Eurasian Collared-Doves Thursday, I found them today
following Seth Ausbel's directions. They are on Curtis Road, by the last of the
3? houses on the north side a couple of hundred yards west of 259. Seth saw
them on the wires Tuesday, I saw the pair in the trees in front of
I observed the Ash-throated Flycatcher at the Cohancy Street location this
afternoon (11/27) around 3:05 pm.
I was shown the bird by another birder whose name I never learned. He had
evidently seen the bird in the same spot about 20 minutes earlier, then it had

For the last two days a drab immature female Baltimore Oriole has been coming
to my feeders and birdbath. I guess cause of the warm fall there seem to be
alot of orioles still in the northeast.

birds, my f.o.s. Iceland Gull (an immaculate 1st winter) and Common
Goldeneye. A 1 hr count (9:40-10:40 am) logged the following:
