Yesterday, Lynne Hertzog and I (Richard Fried) birded from Belmont Lake to E.
Hampton. We arrived at Belmont Lake at 8:15 am to find most of the ice melted
and most of the geese already gone. There was a Graylag Goose amongst the
180-200 Canadas, but the Barnacle Goose had already left,

Hi All,
Some time spent birding the area between the Ramble and the Reservoir in
Central Park was relatively productive. The VARIED THRUSH continues to be seen
around it's classic locality, and did not move further than several yards when
a young RED-TAILED HAWK spooked the birds east of the
Alice Deutsch and I (Ardith Bondi) found not very many birds, but
highlights included 5 Horned Larks in the WE2 parking lot and 1 near
the CGS. 4 American Pipits in the median and a couple of Yellow-rumped
Warblers. A passing Peregrine falcon and beautiful Grey Ghost Northern
Harrier by the

Eric Titcomb and I (Sy Schiff) birded the ocean beaches, jetties and the inlet
this morning. A large group of COMMON EIDER was on the east side of the west
jetty (counted 78) with a single male BLACK SCOTER. There were a few HORNED
