I went down to try for the Moriches Bay Pacific Loon today around sunset. I saw a loon that looked right for the Pacific Loon from the parking lot at the end of Moriches Island Road. The bird was distant and the light was fading, but I had long looks at it in my scope. It had the defined color

The previously reported Am. Golden-Plover was feeding in the median near Field 8 at Heckscher SP around 8:30 AM (now within count week for the Captree CBC). The previously reported Black-headed Gull was milling around in the Setauket Mill Pond at 1:35 PM (but not at 1:30!) this afternoon.

Betsy and I had at least three ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS over the Niagara River, just off of the northeast corner of Goat Island, NY. One bird also flew over us when we are in the parking lot (the big one at the upstream end of the island - I.e., away from the falls). They were tending to fly over
