I forgot to mention that I posted cone crop photos on my Facebook page
(below). I also posted photos of Bicknell's Thrush at dawn along with
Whiteface Mountain sunrise shots. The cone crop on White, Red, and Black
Spruce, Balsam Fir, and White Cedar are excellent! There are some new cones
on
Currently in the westernmost pond.

I just received the following response from Dave Taft at NPS regarding
the East Pond.

The reason I couldn't find the complete date in 2009, was because it
happened in 2008 ! Thanks to the many birders who responded to my queries,
I now know it must have been between 5/18/08 and 5/24/08.
