from me. I couldn't believe how close it came. There was a small piece of
tree bark in the road that it was swooping at and I guess it mistook that for
an insect.

While driving north on the NYS Thruway (I-87), I observed several hundred snow
geese in a flooded field adjacent to the east side of the thruway and just
north of Kingston.

While scanning the large flocks of Canada geese at Blue Chip Farms late today,
a flock of snow geese flew directly overhead along Hoagerburgh Road. The flock,
which I estimated to be in the range of 300 birds, continued south and out of
sight.

I was there on Sunday 1/13 from approximately 10:00 AM to 2:45 PM (I left the
location twice for short periods of time to take a break) and did not see the
bird, even though it had been there earlier in the morning. I’m also interested

I and one other birder observed the pair of MISSISSIPPI KITES flying together
over the fields at the top of the hill on Donato Road between 5:15pm and 5:30
pm today (6/19/2010).
