The Common Murre we reported swimming in the ocean Sunday at RMSP was refound
today by Brent Bomkamp. The bird had died and was lying on the beach being
eaten by a Peregrine Falcon. This is the second Murre that we are aware of
(there may be others) that was observed in a weakened condition and

At 9:35AM a near shore dark morph South Polar Skua was observed from RMSP
Field 2. The bird was observed harassing an Osprey (about 2/3 the size of
Osprey) that was carrying a fish before heading East. Decent numbers of Great
Shearwaters as well.

in a large flock (approx. 1500) of Canada Geese in the farm field south of

We spent the morning birding Montauk Pt. and environs. Without a doubt, the
highlight was the presence of large numbers of Razorbills flying around the
point. In two hours of observation we recorded some five hundred forty

The two previously reported Cattle Egrets were observed this morning at Timber
Pt. Golf Course. Specifically, on the west side of the entrance road near a
house with a large fence around it.

Ash-throated Flycatcher was not seen early this morning at Heckscher SP.

Perching on small evergreen shrubs and wooden posts.
