[nysbirds-l] Cassin's Kingbird-NO!

What can I say? It wasn't for lack of effort. Our CBC team had constant 
/rotating coverage from dawn until dusk. It will probably show up tomorrow ... 
after the Christmas Bird Count.

Just a brief follow up ...

The kingbird was seen well in its usually spot at the picnic area on the south 
side of Floyd Bennett Field's community gardens. Heydi Lopes, myself and 
several others observed it from around 10:15am until 10:30am.

One week until the CBC and this is my count circle! Keeping my fingers crossed.

The famed Cassin's Kingbird at Floyd Bennett Field is still around and
appears to be in good shape. It was still finding grub today to feed on,
despite yesterday's downpour and today's chilly weather and strong winds.
Wouldn't it be terrific if it lingers for another 2 weeks and can be seen
and counted on the Brooklyn CBC?

No luck with the kingbird despite it being seen 20 minutes before I arrived. At that time it was on the black fence south of the picnic area and old fields. Multiple birders have been searching. [nysbirds-l] Cassin's Kingbird continues Floyd Bennett field Brooklyn

 Derek Rogers just called (8 AM)to say after some searching the Cassin's 
Kingbird was found in the large field south of the community gardens. It was 
heard vocalizing, then was flying north towards the gardens.

Kingbird yesterday at Floyd Bennet Field, I'm a bit surprised that so few photo

I just saw a tweet from Michael Juan that the kingbird is being seen 200 yards 
south of the community garden at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.

There were birders hard at work diligently searching FBF from the first light. 
I left the scene of the crime around 1:15 pm crossing the bridge over to Fort 
Tilden where I searched that area as well as Riis Park, until about 3:30 p.m. 
when I finally conceded that the bird was elsewhere.

My only consolation for lots of walking today was a Parasitic Jaeger seen off 
of Fort Tilden during a late seawatch. There were loads of gulls off shore at 
Tilden dominated by Laughing Gulls with ample numbers of Bonaparte Gulls in the 
mix. Many Laughing Gulls were moving west with small flocks of Black and Surf 
scoters.  When I departed Tilden, the Gull flock had thickened but were further 
offshore.

Good effort by all who came out to FBF today and put in the work!
