[nysbirds-l] East Pond Shorebird report 8-5-16

An uptick in shorebirds on the pond was observed today. Most of the increase 
were Semipalmated Sandpipers estimated at near 800.

Overall, the diversity remain low with 1 STILT SANDPIPER being the highlight. 
The water level is definitely dropping again and we should have good shoreline 
within a week or so.

As promised, I cleared paths on the overgrown south end and around Shriber's 
Slew.

Juvenile shorebirds remain low with a few Lesser Yellowlegs and Least 
Sandpipers present. Still looking for that massive push of shorebirds yet to 
arrive on the pond.
