In case others are curious: that bird was banded as a pre-fledged chick by
our team (NYC Audubon) on 17 June 2010 on Canarsie
I birded the East Pond for a few hours today testing access along the north end
and getting in some shorebirding.
An estimated 300 Shorebirds on the East Pond consisting of 8 species. The
highlights included LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER (1), STILT SANDPIPERS (21). All
feeding comfortably just past "De
This morning, despite the rain I spent some time breaking up and raking
some Algae on the north west end of the pond. I think it looks much better
there now and the next effort, would be on the south end all along the east
side.
