Will the Joyent VND changes get merged into the next version of OmniOS?
It seems they were backed out the last time, and I haven't seen them
come back in again.
thanks,
Geoff

Hallo Dan
This is not related to Windows AD but a problem that the Solarish kernel
SMB server does not offer a master browser capability that is needed to
provide the list of SMB servers in Windows "network neighborhood".
So you need a Windows or SAMBA server in the subnet that provides this

We have an AD environment where the AD server is the master browser
to list all servers and workstations on our Windows machines under network
This works for a couple of OmniOS 151014 servers but not for my 151016/
151017 testservers. Is this a known problem or is there something that I
should
As I'm updating and checking packages for r151018's release, I notice that
OpenSSL is rapidly approaching a 1.1.0 release. I visited their Release
Strategy page:
http://openssl.org/policies/releasestrat.html
And noticed that 1.0.2 is LTS until 2019. OTOH, 1.1.x will likely become LTS

You tell it to log to the auth facility, but you also need to tell
syslog to put auth messages where you want them.

I'm trying to get sshd logging to work on OmniOS with OpenSSH installed.
Nothing I try seems to produce any logging.
In sshd_config I have:
# Syslog facility and level
SyslogFacility AUTH
LogLevel VERBOSE
In /etc/syslog.conf:
*.err;kern.notice;auth.notice /dev/sysmsg
Try to disable usb in bios before installing.

So, Solaris 11.3 boots up and installs fine but not OmniOS.
I sure would like to use OmniOS on this machine, so I ask are there any other
debuging
options for me at the installation level ?
Could I try to install OmniOS on a HDD/SSD on other machine with ACHI and boot
it up on the problematic
