nevermind --- that helped me figure out what was wrong. It wasn't the read only embulum --that light gray ... this was a soldid (glossy) black box with a white padlock in. Afte rfinding permissions that you led me to i sorted it out Thanks again. This message posted from opensolaris.org

Again you have to use your administrator privileges and run a command with the pfexec prefix pfexec rm /export/home/matt/.Trash/C00122.JPG See, this is not Windows and here we are strict about who can do what... ;-) ___

Remember, in Unix file names are case sensitive. Maybe you wrote something wrong. I made sure i used all the correct cases. An yeah, I'm sure terminals fine ... it must be somthing in the folders and files This message posted from opensolaris.org

but you see -- i used package manger -- nothing .. it didn't install. I went to the OpenOffice website and FAQ and it told me i need to move it to a folder .. i tried -but it wouldn't give me access saying i need to have admin status! This message posted from opensolaris.org
