Hi Ehsan, For the most part the common API of 2.8.x and 3.0.x has been maintained so applications should port from 2.8.x to 3.0.x easily. Often it will simply be a case of recompiling against the new version, occasionally you might find a difference, if you do just ping the list or have a look

Paul and Robert, Thank you that is exactly the information I was looking for, and for the reference both 2.8.5 and 3.0.1 linked fine and so far I do not see any issues. Well, even 2.8.2 was working great, OSG is an excellent software. I guess I will update to 2.8.5, and then to 3.0.1 later

I'd wait until the next stable release before going with 3. There's several bugs in the 2.9.x/ 3 releases that have been resolved. Such as incorrect text rendering, buggy slow path rendering and some sort of GL resource handling bug that was causing reuse of invalid display lists. These have all
