Why someone should set DNS in OTRS?
OTRS is a ticketing system, not an Operating System: of course it uses the DNS
defined on the underlying OS.

Just want to be certain I understand this correctly. In Admin / Email
Addresses, when you add a new System Address. The example says:
Email:
Realname:
Queue:
But when you go to add an address, the fields are labelled as:
Name:
Realname:
Queue:
Valid:

I just want to confirm that
Daniele,
I intend to configure the DNS Servers to enforce the OTRS make MX nslookups in

I've installed SystemMonitoring to work with receiving inbound tickets
from an external vendors ticketing system. Apparently my regex'ing is so
rusty I'm unable to make this work. So far it's not even identifying
anything as a new ticket since based on what I can see I should be able
to see data
Ok, sorry Camilo: I misunderstood you question.
Anyway I don't think you can do this directly inside OTRS.
I'm not that DNS expert, but maybe is possible to filter MX DNS nslookups
(q=mx) coming from a specified IP address (the one of your OTRS server)
redirecting them to an outside DNS server.
I still haven't been able to resolve my issue with mssql. I've got an
install of 2.3 running and I've run the scripts to setup the database on our
sql 2005 server. Otrs connects, but I'm getting this when I try to go to
the login page:
Software error: Can't call method fetchrow_array on an
2.3 is still in beta isn't it? Have you posted the error to bugzilla?
I'm also assuming that you have run the appropriate mssql scripts to
configure the database?

Hi,
I have problem in adding a ticket in Persian. I think when it is going to
write to SysLog, it cause an error because of Persian character.
1. Does anyone in any language has the same problem?
2. Any idea what should I do?
by the way I have submitted the bug to trace it.

Hallo Stefan,
danke erstmal für den Tipp. Das mit dem Verstecken klingt sehr gut,
eventuell werd ich das aber über eine unsichtbare Queue machen. Werd
dann noch einen GenericAgent dafür zusammen stellen und dann sollte das
eigentlich gehen. Vielen Dank nochmal!
