Chaps, it took 3 hours to defrag the guest C: drive, then I uninstalled and reinstalled the VMWare tools and drivers, and I turned off the update sharing (as Davy suggested) then rebooted. It seems a bit better, but still too slow to work normally. I'll have to do more investigation -- *Greg* On

Hi I bet you've already checked this, but have you disactivated windows update sharing? It's in advanced options of the windows update dialog under how I receive updates (my windows is in french so that's my guess) Turn all sharing off, it will still pull updates from the host machine, leave

Stephen, Just regarding RAID0, you should check on the actual performance difference with SSDs and RAID. I was going to do the same thing but found some tests that indicated the improvement was only in specific tests. Under normal use, there's no real benefit and it can even be slower. I ended
