Lordy. Finally got this all sorted.
The content source URLs needed to be changed to HTTP for site content, and
SPS3S for people results. Weird but working.

I'm receiving the following error when trying to add a list view web part.
Unable to find anything useful online.
Failed to add webpart lvwpguid:{guid};ListName.
Exception Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPageUserException: List View
Web Part could not be added, list may be
[sigh] Despite having specified the default view, apparently a BaseViewID of
zero must also be present.
This is the initial view used by LVWPs (Type, Name, Modified), none of which I
am using. :)
