Hi
Recently I've been putting all my disks onto hard drive, meticulously making
sure each has the correct information in the tag. I've come across a strange
anomile in Itunes and wonder if anyone can throw any light on it, or suggest
other player programs which might be better.
I ripped them
I have a Lyra 2610, and that is an accessibility nightmare. The
problem is, you can't get to your music and you always need sighted
assistance.

Is there a way to fast forward through a file by chunks of time in goldwave
5.1? I had a long file I recorded and while fast forwarding through some
commercials hit the wrong button and started the vile over at the beginning.
There were no markers in it because it was a game I had left
The easiest way to do it, I think, is to hit shift+e to set your markers.
Then tab once, and you'll be able to set your start marker. If you want to
start fifteen minutes into the file, you'd enter 15:00 and hit enter. Then
when you push F4, you should be starting at that start-marker position.
The reason you were told that by FS is because Windows Media Center is
basically Windows XP Pro with additional stuff added specifically designed
to handle multi-media. The standard version of JFW does not work with
Windows XP Pro. You have to pay for an upgrade to the professional version

Larry,
Someone brought up a very important point. If you are a Jaws user, and do
not have the professional version of JFW, in other words JFW standard
version, it will not work with Media Center computers. Media Center is
Windows XP Pro with some added features,. If you are a Window Eyes user,
Hi Brian.
We may have different versions of the program as mine certainly doesn't make
any sound when complete. When the volume setting is in action, the cancel
button comes to focus and disappears when the job is complete. You can also
tab into the list of tracks and see what the new volume
I'm fortunate enough to have Jaws Professional and WindowEyes. Now, at the
risk of moving OT for this group, do you have a preference between Jaws
Professional and WindowEyes in XP Media Center?

Hi Kevin and Brian. Actually, with at least the most recent version there is
an option for beep when finished. I more or less tripped over it by
accident. Just hit alt+F, arrow right three times, then arrow down until you
hear beep when finished. It's a check box, so just check it and you're
I was trying to download last Monday's Marlaina show; but I thought
you could download one replay at a time, but it sounded from the
directions that you had to add the url to your podcatcher. I
listened to the show on line, because I am not sure I want to add the

Larry,
I own both as well, but my preference is WindowEyes. In all fairness
however they both perform about the same in Media Center. Even Narrator
works in Media Center. I just listened to a great review of Media Center
2005 done by Larry Scutchon. You should be able to find it at
Hey folks,
I've been using wmp to rip my music collection onto an external drive, and
for the most part I'm very happy with the process. However, on occasion I
will rip a seemingly fine cd onto the drive, and when I listen to the ripped
tracks, there will be a clicking or ticking sound of a
I have not forced mono but the recording of everything are in mono. I
just noticed this. Kurt

Hello!
I asked this before but might have missed your replies so here goes again.
I ripped a cd with Windows Media Player to mp3 but deleted the mp3 files and
want to rip it again but WMP10 is recognising that, how can I make WMP10
forget the identity of the previously ripped cds and where are
Hey George,
What I've been doing in that situation is shift tabbing in Windows Media
until I reach the list of tracks. You can then use the spacebar the check
the first track. Arrow down to the second track and press spacebar to check
it. Repeat this process until all tracks are checked. Then

Hi Gang:
Does anyone know of a high quality, high capacity MP3 player which one can
scan through folders and files similar to an Explorer interface? I realize
that this is not totally an accessible solution but it's better than
anything I have seen to date.
I've looked at the bookport but
Yes, though it isn't fastforwarding. press shift+e then tab and type in
the time you want to jump to.s

I noticed an option in WMP to do error correction while ripping. Try that
and tell us if it makes a difference. I haven't had any trouble so far with
the default setting, which is off. But, I was thinking I should turn it on.

Mine was off as well, but enabling it still results in the odd sounds
popping up in certain songs. It doesn't occur on all discs, and even on the
cds where it does happen, it only seems to happen on certain tracks, but I
still can't seem to get rid of it. I may have to try burning to an mp3 or
Hi Catherine
If you're having trouble making a skype call and you get an error

I said earlier that everything was in mono. I have not checked a check
