That will not happen, they focus on recording, and since they don't have accessibility perfect yet, it won't be a good idea. Received My Olympus DM7
Subject line says it all and I've been exploring the new recorder for a couple of days though a big part of me does prefer my older Olympus DM4 and I'm still quite happy to use the faithful and most reliable Zoom H1 which I've had for around 5 years now. I think what surprised me is the striking differences between the two Olympus recorders, I know we did have a discussion on the differences between the two machines on list a while back but actually comparing the two physically side by side? Well I wasn't quite prepared for the shock. The DM7 along with its looks does throw up some new ways of doing things obviously, the control layout tells you that. I think the internal speaker of the DM7 sounds quite a bit nicer than does the DM4. I haven't as yet set up the Wi-Fi and I probably won't bother given its limited use, that's a shame as the potential for that function is huge! the hardware is there so why not go all the way and have access to an Internet Radio Database or podcasting Database service? Well the new generation Victor Reader Stream seems to work well enough without one. > On 11 Oct 2015, at 7:02 AM, hamitcamposwrote: > > There is also no keyboard > > Sent from my iPhone > >> On Oct 10, 2015, at 3:35 PM, Dane Trethowan wrote: >> >> Yes, point taken. >> >> >>> On 10/11/2015 6:16 AM, Aidan wrote: >>> That will not happen, they focus on recording, and since they don't >>> have accessibility perfect yet, it won't be a good idea. >>> On 10/10/2015, Dane Trethowan wrote: Subject line says it all and I've been exploring the new recorder for a couple of days though a big part of me does prefer my older Olympus DM4 and I'm still quite happy to use the faithful and most reliable Zoom H1 which I've had for around 5 years now. --- Begin Message --- Hi Dane, Can you please expand on why you find Zoom H1 reliable and faithful? I don't know enough about portable recordders and I am interestted to find out about alternatives to PC/Mac recording. Also, any podcast about it may help, if you know of any. Thank you. Station playlist and pluggins
Hello, I was wondering if anyone uses station playlist? If so, how can I achieve the best sound when streaming? I tried the Thomas limiter plugin to no avail, when not using any compression, listeners report volume fluctuation. Any help would very much be appreciated. Best, Armando
Re: Received My Olympus DM7
What do you mean? The stream does have a full keypad, the Olympus does not, so they would have to implement what they done on the hv-e5 where you choose the letter with up and down, and press ok to select.
