Hello Tom,
Do you have USB ports in the front of your computer?
If you do, then all you need to do is, plug the flash drive in to one of
those ports, then you can save things to it.
Things like NLS books audio files and so on.
That USB cable is not needed.
The only time you will need to use a
Hello there, a few weeks ago, I posted a message about a problem I was
having with my sound. I have just found out that the reason I was having
problems was because the speakers in the Creative Audio console had been set
to 2.1 speakers. When I changed the setting, it went back to what I thought
Can you give a description of the PNY flash drive? Also, have you tried
flipping it over?

Hi. Thanks for responses so far, but any more will be of great use.
I've never had any experience whatsoever of the Bookport Plus, nor of
the Booksense which has also been mentioned to me, so any info on
these machines (features etc) would be greatly appreciated. As they

but can't go forward and backword still. any ideas?

Hello John let me get this straight.
You connect the USB cable in to the port of the cartridge, right?
I'm sorry if I come across as an ignorant moron here.
You can get it at RadioShack also? the USB extenssion cord?

No, the usb cable is to connect the player to your computer in case you
download a book. Otherwise the flash drive connects right to the player
without any cable. The cartridge goes in to the front of the unit.

The bookport plus is the same hardware as the Plextalk Pocket.
And it is probably the only accessible recorder on the market that really
gives you full control of even the recording volume setting.

Hello,
I believe the idea here, is a stand alone machine that talks.
Nothing to do with a computer unless you wish to burn your finish product to
a CD, but an assessable digital recorder that blind people as well as
sighted people to use to make full fledged recordings.
My best regards.
John.
Yep, its just an idea.

Or, you may have a drive with a sleeve, so you
have to push on a sort of button so the drive

Right behind it, is the USB port.
I'm sure it was just a typo, but the cable is used to connect a blank
cartridge to the PC. It doesn't connect the player to the PC.
