Search for recording solution
Hi all, I've been using Windows XP for recording and had very good success, until my Windows XP machine decided to give up the ghost, something about the motherboard. Until the Xp computer gave up the ghost, I had made several recordings in which I recorded from the mic, audio in line, and the screen reader at the same time. I'm temporarily using my wife's old Windows Vista laptop until I can get a Windows 7 desktop computer and have found that this is no longer possible, or at least not as i was used to doing it in XP. What would be the solution for regaining the ability to record from the mic, audio line in, and record the screen reader at the same time if I wished to? I would prefer to use Goldwave for recording as I'm used to it. I've considered that it may take the purchase of either an external sound card or a mixer of some sort. If so, are there any recommendations? My recordings aren't professional by any means, so it doesn't have to be expensive, whatever the solution is. Thanks in advance and happy holidays everyone! Converting More Than One File At A Time With Switch
Hello list: I have and use the program Switch to convert files; I mainly use it to pup the bit rate in files from time to time. I have several files that I need to convert from WAV to MP3. Is it possible for Switch to do more than one file at a time? Or am I going to have to just convert them one at a time? Thanks in advance! Tom Kaufman
Re: Converting More Than One File At A Time With Switch
Okay firstly, are you using the Professional or the Free version? I have a sneaking suspician that this makes a difference, I know that the professional version will do Batch Conversion meaning that more than one file will be converted. I'm not on my Windows machine at present so can't tell you the exact steps, from memory I think there's an Add Folder button, this adds a folder of contents to be converted. If you can't find that then use Add File, a standard type Browser Window will pop-up where you can select what you wish to convert. A list of files for switch to convert will appear in the main Window which you can refine even further. Re: Search for recording solution
HI Laz? I had the same problem as you until Idon't know where or how I found out, of a feature called Playback. I'm talking from experience of here in Windows7 with the RealTech High Definition Audio soundcard that comes default in Windows7. Does Windows Vista have this? Any if you have this card, look for an option that says Playback; this Playback records both Jaws and my voice. Is this what you're looking for? Re: Converting More Than One File At A Time With Switch
You have to get it from the web. Or I tried buying it again, updating the older switch to my new com but Fries did not carry it at least at that time. I just had my teck download it. I use the older version professional on my XP home com but have not tried out my new version on the 07 com as of yet. It sells under some program company called NCLS or something like that. But i have converted up to 25 files at once and it did well but that was the professional version. MMM TickPub Thanks You, All The Best And More, Regards And Respect From Michael!
