Is anybody having problems running Pd extended with Snow Leopard? I'm having
trouble getting it running correctly without it freezing up. It will work
fine for a few minutes but soon freezes and will not let me open or close
files or open or close the program.
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Pd currently hangs when the system is going to sleep or when you plug in or out
the headphones in 10.6. If you plug in prior to the application launch then it
works.
i haven't found other problems then that so far.

occasionally it is impossible to close patches with w but it is still
possible to close them using the mouse.
Pd-ext freezes very rarely and I haven't found a pattern for that.
Using in-built audio and plugging in or out headphones requires to re-define
the audio hardware (or else no sound).
Please submit any bugs like this to the tracker so we can try to get
them fixed for the Pd-extended 0.42 release. Also, try a nightly
build, it has an updated version of portaudio, so that might help with
the audio I/O issues.
I was having a similar problem, but eventually noticed that the
freeze-ups happened only after wake from sleep. With sleep disabled
(not a good long-term solution, I realize), Pd-extended (v. 0.41.4) runs
rock-stable. I halfway suspect it is my M-Audio Ozone drivers that is
not recovering
A follow-up: I now strongly suspect that it is the M-Audio Ozone driver
for Snow Leopard that is freezing on sleep. I tried sleeping my
Pd-extended setup without the keyboard connected (i.e. using the
MacBook's internal sound out), and there was no sleep-freeze. I did
have to turn audio off
