Improved stability for general performance. Eric, regardless of feature additions, new device support, etc., as soon as I see the above statement the upgrade is worth doing. They will have fixed firmware bugs that may prevent you from experiencing annoying problems that others have encountered.

Don't count out canon's printers. Their ink is cheaper than epsons and I think they make better printers. I've used a few of them from the ipf8000 series and their smaller printers are just as good and produce the same quality, though with less inks. I have a Pixma Pro 9500 mk2 that is 10 colors

I'm not sure that the 3800 bleeds ink when idle - it simple parks the head and then does a mini-flush when it is powered on. I can't say say that I know that for a fact - that's what I that I have heard. At any rate - draining on 80ml cartridge in a month would is clearly a malfunction! Mark
