Ann is one of my heroes. She's made a go of it in New York on her own. She's a
creative be soul who gets by on her skills and wit. I think she has a darn good
life, and that makes me happy.

Driving along the coastal road as dusk set in we came upon some
intense black rocks, threatening clouds that hid the sun and an island
in the distant haze. The sea was shimmering. I could not resist but
stop and take some shots.

I will respectfully disagree with this point of view Sir Cotty.
If someone is actually gong to USE their camera (and not just pull it out twice
a year for holidays or family gatherings), then they don’t need extra kit. They
need to either attend to the charge level on their battery or they need
It's the beginning of fall in the northern hemisphere. I've been out-doors more

I've even made a few photographs.

Carolina portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
You can get the AA battery carrier from Amazon. It's not that expensive, only
about USD $34.
I'd buy one if I had the K-R. The AA Lithium disposable batteries give about
twice as many shots as the D-LI109.

You can also set the K1 to use an electronic shutter in live view mode,

With the camera set to 3 second delay and electronic shutter, you can

A piece of plastic with some metal strips inside to jam batteries in?
I don't see that as good marketing, I see it as poor equipment level.

I'm using CS2 as well, I don't think that CS2 recognizes any new makers
information that was added after it's last official update. The fields
are there but that version doesn't know how to interpret them. I have
a similar issue with CS2 and the K-5II. It's not annoying enough that I

The K-r will take AA batteries in a pinch. She could use four standard
alkaline batteries to just power it up to do the update if she has the
battery carrier, or she could use disposable lithiums if she needs the
camera while waiting for the battery, one again, if she has the carrier.
