If Assistant # 7 from photo # 1 could jump out of the Winkler Cake in photo #

I'm thinking of trying 220 film with my 645. It has the obvious advantage of
doubling the number of shots per roll. And it supposedly has a flater film
plain. But can 220 film be loaded safely in daylight? (Particularly if
loaded in the shade.)

You may have confused the price of the Contax NX with the Contax N1.
BH lists the Contax NX for $649.95 and the Pentax MZ-S for $799.95. They
are indeed comparable cameras at not quite comparable prices but it is the
MZ-S that's overpriced!

I finally settled on the Contax 645 because of lens selection, lens

Yes, the Pentax Family quarterly magazine is printed in Japanese only.
But all photo data (and the magazine is heavily illustrated) is printed in
Japanes English.
And it doesn't hurt to have a Japanese translator at work! :-

I'd like to get the Pentax LX 2000 edition! A brand new LX with the
famous 50mm f/1.2 lens in a Limited makeover body! Than add the silver 77mm
Limited and the silver 31mm Limited lenses! The silver Limited lenses are
perfect on the LX 2000 body!!!

If Pentax is indeed designing an updated LX, I recommend they include

'Limited' lens -- silver = 97,000 yen; black = 100,000 yen
These are, of course, prices in Japan. We should expect to pay more for
the 'Limited' black lenses (about 3 % more in Japan) but hopefully importers
will keep this increase to a minimum.

Personally, I prefer the vertical display. I shoot BW exclusively
using the Hyper Manual mode with Spot metering and a modified Zone System
approach. To me the vertical display seems natural.

And I still think if there is a 18mm lens in the near future it will be
