It was cloudy in North Texas also. I drove out to the country anyway,
to a fairly dark sky spot I had researched earlier. No luck with the
clouds clearing out. I only saw two streaks - nothing I could
photograph.
I had one interesting experience. I was at a lake, standing a bit away

I was in Soda Springs, CA (near Lake Tahoe) at a friend of mine's
(he's telecommuting from the mountains, lucky bastard--in the winter
he goes out to ski during his lunch break)
Got to see just two or three small streaks close to midnight. Stayed
up until about 1:30, but it was partly cloudy and

Weather here in Chicago was a bummer too!
It is positively balmy for November at 65-70 degrees F.
This is at least 20 degrees F higher than average.
But, along with the warm air has come moisture and fog.
There was no sky visible here last night, only fog below the street lights.
Regards, Bob
Well I just came back, I needed to drive 1hr north due
to a fog that
covered Toronto, IT WAS AMAZING! I just hope my
exposures were
right to get it all.

Well, I didn't have to drive anywhere and the weather was clear. No
amazing show however, just the odd streak here and there to the south of
my location. Most disappointing and I didn't shoot a single frame. I

Depends where you are: in Brisbane, 2;30 am Monday morning is the suggested

I hope it's better than three years ago - got up at 3:30 and saw more
