It's new to me but maybe others have heard of it. Interesting mix of
info presented about various lenses and some the outbound links are
interesting and useful as well. The link above is to the M42 section of

tripod foot which helps with your center of gravity when putting a
Takumar on the front of your Q mount camera $19
Pentax-F 100mm f2.8 macro. This is a hard to find lens with a great
reputation for its combination of build quality
This is not a difficult lens to find on the usual auction sites, and
is still a relative bargain compared to the f1.8/f1.9 Takumars and
later Pentax models - as well as the original Zeiss Sonnars (East
West German) that it was cloned from.
The problem is often finding a good one with no issues.

I've trawled the Pentax forums, most recommend the genuine Pentax
adapter which is expensive and hard to find - But, the genuine Pentax
adapter itself
The M42 to K-Mount adapter was designed as part of the transition from
M42 to K-mount in the 1970s to allow owners buy a new Pentax body and
make use of their existing complement of M42 lenses. It is designed to
mount into the K-mount body and lock there in order to facilitate

i have a no-name adapter from ebay that i've used with my Macro-Takumar 50mm
I have had a third party adapter stick on the body. I had to remove the entire
k-mount from the body so that I could get at the back of it to dislodge the
adapter.

It says there's spring you have to push in with the tip of a ball point pen,
then you just turn it counter-clockwise until it stops it will come out.
When it works normally, that
disengage the spring and the adapter is then jammed
solid. I have heard of a few other people (apart from myself and Jerry) that
this has happened to and it is always a third-party adapter that goes wrong.

from the k body, I just squeeze the spring to
remove from body. just squeeze and turn, its

p.s. the pentax adapter makes the k body into

Pentax USA seems to make them available from time to time, but mostly
you have to pick them up used. ebay is where I got my second one. (I
bought the first when I got my MX in 1976).

Amazon lists a Pentax Mount Adaptor B. I don't think it's actually made
by Pentax.
Otherwise, you might find a NOS Pentax Mount Adapter-K at an independent
camera dealer.

I thught I had searced ebay pretty thoroughly with no luck, but searching again
did find an authentic Pentax M42-PK adapter for $29.50 w/shipping. Tried an
off
brand on an older K mount camera and it is jammed, so felt I had to go with the
original Pentax adapter.
